Why do we use cardboard for our folding boxes and not corrugated cardboard as for our shipping boxes? It has to do with the special properties of the material:
  • Cardboard is different from paper and corrugated board mainly in terms of its weight (the so-called grammage). In contrast, the raw materials for production are largely identical.
 
  • The weight of cardboard is between that of the lighter paper and the heavier corrugated board. Our folding boxes are made of cardboard with grammage between 280 g/m2 and 400 g/m2.
 
  • This is ideal for further processing. The cardboard has sufficient flexural strength to take on a wide variety of shapes - without tearing or breaking. At the same time, it is robust enough to provide protective function.
 
  • In addition, there is another advantage - cardboard can be excellently printed and finished due to its grammage and surface properties.









This opens up a wide range of options to give your folding box exactly the shape and look you want. Printing on both sides gives you even more options for individual design. Cardboard also has an extremely pleasant feel, which you can make even more interesting with finishes.

Snap lock base: Interlocking flaps, which are additionally strengthened by the weight of the packaged goods, are the secret of the robust stability that the snap lock base can offer. Compared to the similarly stable crash lock base, the snap lock base benefits from a slight price advantage.
Crash lock base: The box base is firmly glued and therefore particularly robust. It also stands up by itself, which speeds up the assembly of the folding box even more. Fast filling with heavier products is therefore absolutely no problem for the crash lock base.
